Ways I can help
Ways I can help you this year
Nothing on this page costs you anything. These are the four things I do most often for people in Florida, New Jersey and North Carolina, and every one of them starts with a phone call. There is no obligation to enroll in anything, and your premium is the same whether you work with me or not.
1. A free consultation, whenever you are ready
This is where almost everyone starts. We spend fifteen to thirty minutes on the phone and you tell me what you have now and what is not working. Maybe your premium went up. Maybe a prescription is suddenly expensive. Maybe you are turning 65 in a few months and nobody has explained what you are supposed to do.
Have your insurance card nearby if you can, a list of your prescriptions with the doses, and the names of the doctors you want to keep. If you do not have all of that, we can still start. I will tell you what I see and what I would look at first. You do not have to decide anything on that call, and plenty of people do not.
2. An annual coverage review
Plans change every single year. Premiums move, networks shrink, formularies get rewritten. A plan that fit you three years ago can quietly stop fitting you, and the letter that explains it usually arrives in a font nobody wants to read.
So once a year I sit down with everyone I work with and we compare what you have against what is available in your county for the coming year. We check your doctors, your prescriptions and your out-of-pocket limits side by side. Sometimes the answer is that you should keep exactly what you have. Sometimes there is something clearly better. Either way you will know why.
If you already have coverage and you have never had anyone review it, that is a good reason to call. I do this for people who did not enroll through me too.
3. A Medicare plan comparison in plain language
Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement are not the same thing, and the difference matters more than the premium. I will walk you through both using your own doctors and your own prescriptions, not a generic brochure.
What we look at together:
- Whether your doctors and hospital are in the network for each plan we consider.
- What your specific prescriptions cost for a full year, including the deductible phase.
- How the plan handles travel, and what happens if you spend part of the year in another state.
- What your worst case looks like, so a hospital stay does not turn into a surprise.
- Whether a standalone Part D drug plan fits better alongside Original Medicare.
You will leave the call knowing how each option works. I do not push one over the other. The right answer depends on your health, your budget and how much you travel, and that is different for everyone who calls me.
4. Senior education sessions for groups
I spend a lot of my time simply explaining how Medicare works to rooms full of people who were never told. If you run a church group, a community center, a senior club or a workplace that is preparing people for retirement, I am glad to come speak.
The session is educational. I explain the parts of Medicare, how enrollment windows work, what the difference is between a supplement and an Advantage plan, and how to read the summary of benefits you get in the mail. I take questions for as long as people have them. There is no sales pitch and no sign-up sheet. If someone wants to talk with me afterward about their own situation, that is their call.
Sessions are available in English or Spanish, in person across Palm Beach and Broward Counties, or by video for groups in New Jersey and North Carolina.
What these are not
To be clear about it: none of this is a discount, a coupon or a limited-time offer. There is nothing to buy on this page. My consultations are free because the insurance companies pay me when someone chooses to enroll, and your premium is identical either way. If you never enroll in anything, you have still gotten a straight answer out of the call, and that is fine with me.
If you are not sure which of these fits you, call and say so. That is a perfectly good way to start. You can also read the questions I hear most on the answers page or see the full list of services here.
We do not offer every plan available in your area. Any information I give you is limited to the plans I do offer in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov, 1-800-MEDICARE, or your local State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) to get information on all of your options.
LYS Insurance Agency is not connected with or endorsed by the United States government or the federal Medicare program.
